Led by an EV specialist
Brad James, one of our two directors, is an EV specialist with over 15 years' experience, and he leads our EV charger work. That matters, because a good charger installation is mostly about what you do not see: the assessment of the supply, the choice of protection and earthing, and a cable route that is neat, safe and practical for the way you park.
Covering the whole county
We are based in Leamington Spa and Warwick and install chargers across the whole of Warwickshire and the Midlands. Typical jobs include driveway chargers on newer homes around Rugby, Southam and Warwick, garage and side-wall installs on older houses in Kenilworth and Leamington Spa, and chargers for cottages and homes in the villages around Stratford-upon-Avon, where longer cable runs and older installations need more planning.
Survey first, then install
Before recommending a charger, we check the incoming supply, the main fuse, the consumer unit and the earthing arrangement. A charger draws a high current for hours at a time, so the installation has to cope with it alongside cookers, showers and heating. If it cannot, we explain the options, such as load management or a consumer unit upgrade, before any work is booked.
- A dedicated circuit with the correct protection for the charger
- Earthing arranged to suit your type of supply
- A smart charger, as required for new home and workplace charge points in Great Britain
- Testing and certification to BS 7671, and notification to the network operator for our work
Workplaces and rental properties
For businesses, we install workplace charge points with the supply assessed first and the work planned around your site. For landlords and agents, a charger can make a rental property more appealing, and we can fit it between tenancies alongside other electrical work. Larger schemes are covered on our commercial and contract page.

FAQs
EV chargers in Warwickshire: common questions
Can every home have an EV charger?
Most homes can, but not always without changes. The survey checks the supply, main fuse, consumer unit and earthing. Sometimes an upgrade or load management is needed first, and occasionally the network operator needs to be involved before a charger can go in.
Where can the charger go?
A home charger needs to be fitted on your own property, close to where you park, such as on a driveway, a garage wall or a post. We will advise on the best position during the survey.
Does an EV charger installation need to be notified?
Yes. We notify the local electricity network operator for the chargers we install, and every installation is tested and certified to BS 7671.
Should I choose a tethered or untethered charger?
A tethered charger has a cable permanently attached, which is quick to use every day. An untethered charger has a socket, so you plug in your own cable, which looks tidier and suits different vehicles. We can talk you through both.
Who will carry out the installation?
Our EV work is led by co-director Brad James, an EV specialist with over 15 years' experience, and installed by our City & Guilds qualified electricians.
